About the Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will own the end-to-end implementation of user-facing features, collaborate closely with designers and backend engineers, and help define frontend best practices for the team. You will be working on scalable, high-impact products used by customers across multiple markets.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain responsive web interfaces using React, TypeScript, and modern tooling.
Collaborate with product and design teams to translate UI/UX wireframes into high-quality code.
Improve performance, accessibility, and overall user experience across web properties.
Review code, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
Integrate frontend applications with REST/GraphQL APIs and handle state management effectively.

Required Qualifications & Skills

5+ years of professional experience building web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript.
Strong experience with React (or a similar modern framework) and component-driven development.
Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and styling frameworks such as Tailwind CSS or CSS-in-JS.
Experience consuming APIs, working with JSON data, and handling authentication and routing.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with the Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams.

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role with flexible working hours. Team members are expected to join core collaboration hours and occasional in-office meetings or team events in Nairobi.
