Backend Developer (PHP)

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and web applications using PHP and Laravel/Symfony.
• Design database schemas and write optimised SQL queries.
• Integrate third-party services and payment gateways.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of experience in PHP development with Laravel or Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Experience with REST API design and consumption.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of security best practices (XSS, CSRF, SQL injection).

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Senior Backend Engineer and works with the Product and Frontend teams.
