Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform fibre optic installations, including cable routing, splicing, and connector assembly.
  • Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to verify network integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing fibre links and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Strictly follow safety and quality standards during field operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date installation logs, splicing records, and test results.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or certification in ICT, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on fibre splicing, termination, and field maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency with OTDRs, splicing machines, and related fibre tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical reporting skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel between project sites.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Field Operations Supervisor and works closely with the Network Implementation and Quality Assurance teams.

Working Conditions:

This is a field-based role requiring frequent travel and outdoor work. The position may involve extended hours to complete urgent installations or maintenance tasks.
